Description

When installing a StarWind vCenter plugin (see a link here: Installing StarWind vCenter Plugin), the engineer will be prompted for the vCenter administrator account that will be used by the plugin. It’s also possible to use another account for vCenter plugin, however, it should be confirmed that it has enough permissions for its functionality. More information on how to create a vCenter Server Custom Role is available here: Create a vCenter Server Custom Role

To install the StarWind vCenter plugin and then manage it, the following privileges should be configured:

  • installing, managing, removing and updating plugins;
  • datastore management (creation, modification, deletion);
  • management of storage adapters (Add Software Adapter, Refresh, Rescan Storage, Add Send Target Server);
  • host management – change configuration;
  • VM management;
