What will happened depends on mode that was set for L2 cache.

If it was “Write-Through”, your device will become non-active and will not be reachable for client machine(s).

  • To fix this, you would have to disable L2 cache on your non-active device by following this guidance: http://knowledgebase.starwindsoftware.com/guidance/create-l2-cache-on-partner-node/
  • After disabling L2 cache, you will need to restart StarWind Virtual SAN service in order to implement changes that were made in header file with .swdsk extension for corresponding non-active StarWind device.
  • Once all those manipulations are done, your device will become active and will start synchronizing with his partner device on corresponding partner node.
